Kid Cudi cancels tour after breaking foot at Coachella: “The injury is much more serious than I thought”

Kid Cudi has been forced to cancel his upcoming North American tour after he broke his foot during a last-minute performance at Coachella last weekend. The rapper had taken over the Sahara Tent at the Californian festival to play his first set at the event since 2019. However, his performance ended abruptly after he jumped off the stage to get closer to fans at the barricades during ‘Memories’ and subsequently broke his calcaneus.

Announcing the cancellation of the tour via Instagram, Kid Cudi said that “there’s just no way I can bounce back in time to give 100%” and that it would be necessary for him to focus on getting better in order to “rage” with his fans in the future. He went on to inform fans that new tour dates would be announced soon, and that full refunds would be issued to everyone who had purchased tickets.

The rapper’s broken calcaneus will take between three to four months to heal according to the Orthopaedic Trauma Association. Kid Cudi had never broken a bone before, so the injury came as a shock to him.

There are currently no updates regarding the forthcoming European leg of the INSANO tour that Kid Cudi is set to embark on with Pusha T next year. However, it is currently unclear whether the European tour will be affected by the rapper’s injury, given the seriousness of his breakage.

Sadly, fans of Kid Cudi will have to wait until he makes a full recovery before they can see him on stage once again. He stated that he looks forward to “raging” with everyone in the future once he is back in top form
