Donald Glover, also known as Childish Gambino, has shared previews of two new tracks featuring Kanye West and Kid Cudi during his GILGA Radio show on Instagram Live. In the first untitled track, Kanye raps about recording a follow-up to 2011’s ‘Watch The Throne’ with Jay-Z. Meanwhile, the second track is called ‘Warlords’ and was leaked in 2021. It is currently unknown on what upcoming albums these tracks will appear.
Glover has also announced an upcoming tour named ‘The New World Tour’, with fans able to pre-register their interest for updates. Earlier in the month, he revealed that he plans to release two more albums under the Childish Gambino moniker: ‘Atavista’ and ‘Bando Stone & The New World’. ‘Atavista’ is an updated version of ‘3.15.20’ and is set to release soon. ‘Bando Stone & The New World’ will double as the soundtrack for his upcoming film of the same name, scheduled to release this summer.
‘3.15.20’ was praised by NME when it released in 2020. “Glover’s willingness to share such a candid moment on record is particularly interesting given his past proclivity towards keeping his private life largely offline and may be a sign that the star is beginning to let his guard down as the outside world continues to try to peer in,” the review read.
Despite the anticipation for new music, Glover has made it clear that he’s planning to retire the Childish Gambino moniker after the release of his next projects. In an interview with The Guardian, he shared that the decision stems from feeling like he’s “closing things up in a way that I feel like if it is a four-piece, I like that it’s a complete thing.”
