Kanye West has recently entered into the ongoing feud between rappers Drake, J.Cole, Future, and Kendrick Lamar. West, who now goes by the name Ye, made an appearance on Justin Laboy’s radio show “The Download” over the weekend where he premiered his remix of “Like That”, which was originally shared by Future and Metro Boomin with help from Kendrick Lamar.
The song was seen as a response to Drake and J.Cole’s hit single “First Person Shooter” from Drake’s 2023 album “For All the Dogs”. As the feud between rappers has been going on for a while, West’s remix could extend the long-running beef between him and Drake and may also see West take aim at J.Cole due to the rapper omitting him when referring to “the big three”.
Promoting the remix, West shared an NSFW meme that suggested fans of J.Cole aren’t popular with women. He also honed in on the point in the lyrics and took aim at Drake’s label deals, hinting at the massive deal Drake signed with Universal Music in 2022. During the premiere of his remix, West rapped, “It’s a wrap for n****s / Where’s Lucian, serve your master, n**** / You caught a little bag for your masters didn’t ya / Lifetime deal I feel bad for n****s,” taking aim at Drake.
West’s collaborative album with Ty Dolla $ign, “Vultures 1”, was recently released, and he also posted a photo of himself in the studio with Metro Boomin, hinting that the ongoing feud may continue. Lamar and Cole have occasionally collaborated, with rumors of a joint LP in the works for years. Drake and Lamar have been trading subliminal disses for nearly a decade.
Last week, West was accused of punching a man who had allegedly “sexually assaulted” his wife Bianca Censori in Los Angeles
