Zendaya weighs in on ‘Euphoria’ delay: “It’s beyond me”

Zendaya, known for her role in HBO’s hit show Euphoria, has acknowledged the delay in season three’s production. The third season has faced multiple setbacks as a result of the writing and acting strikes last year and the show’s creator, Sam Levinson’s, delay in finishing the script. The season’s delay has extended so far that its cast is now free to explore other acting opportunities while the network and Levinson “remain committed to making an exceptional third season.”

Despite her role as an executive producer on the show, Zendaya admitted that she is not in charge of the production and her involvement only goes as far as the script and the characters. She reassured that if the show’s situation met the necessary requirements, then season three would be initiated.

Sydney Sweeney, another Euphoria cast member, also expressed her uncertainty regarding the resumption of production. Despite previously hinting her knowledge of season three’s scripts, Sweeney revealed that she was unaware of the production’s return. However, in a recent interview with GQ, Coleman Domingo expressed his understanding of Sam’s writing process, stating that he writes and rewrites as he tries to figure out the “existential question of who we are right now. Our souls. That’s what he wants to figure out with season three.”

Meanwhile, Nika King, who plays Rue’s mother in the show, recently shared that the delay in the show’s production has led to her financial instability. As the wait for season three continues, fans of the hit HBO show await with hopes of soon viewing another exceptional season.
