Riley Keough on ‘Daisy Jones & The Six’ season two: “I don’t know if it’s in the cards”

Riley Keough, star of Amazon Prime Video’s Daisy Jones & The Six, has expressed uncertainty about the show’s future after it has not yet been greenlit for a second season. Based on Taylor Jenkins Reid’s 2019 novel, the story explores the rise and fall of a rock band led by Daisy Jones (played by Keough) and Billy Dunne (played by Sam Claflin). Despite positive reception, Keough says she “hasn’t heard anything” about the show’s potential continuation.

In a statement to Variety last year, Jenkins Reid said that while the show covers the entirety of her novel, she is open to continuing the story if it feels necessary. Claflin has stated that he has “outlined” his vision for a second season and is “pushing for it”.

The series won two Emmy Awards for Outstanding Period Costumes for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie. Keough previously revealed on Instagram in January that the fictional band was set to perform live until the writers’ strike pulled the plug on the plans.

The inspiration behind the story partly came from the dynamic between Fleetwood Mac members Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham. While there is no official word on whether or not Daisy Jones & The Six will be renewed for a second season, fans continue to hope for more from the hit series
