“C’mon”: Liam Gallagher shares footage of son Gene’s band Villanelle, after denying claims of nepotism ahead of support tour

Liam Gallagher has posted a video on his X/Twitter page of his son’s band, Villanelle, performing live. The footage was shared shortly after the announcement that the band would be supporting Gallagher on his upcoming ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th anniversary tour. Villanelle will join Cast and The View as the other support acts on the tour. The band had also previously been spotted supporting Overpass on tour recently.

Gallagher had previously defended his decision to have Villanelle join him on the tour after he announced it, posting on social media that “I’ve given many opportunities to many young bands over the years it’s what you do if you can now it’s VILLANELLES turn if you don’t like it FUCKOFF”. Gallagher’s other son, Lennon, is also in a band, Automotion, who have recently released a new track called ‘Lost In The Spinal Labyrinth’.

Despite some accusations of nepotism, Gallagher’s decision to include Villanelle on his tour has gained support from other musicians, such as Reverend & The Makers, who stated on social media that “Anyone giving him shit for putting his lad on needs to do one. Anyone would do the same surely.” Liam Gallagher’s ‘Definitely Maybe’ 30th anniversary tour is due to kick off in June in Sheffield, and will feature the musician performing the entirety of Oasis’ seminal album along with some B-sides
