No Doubt reunited for their first live performance in over nine years at the annual Coachella music and arts festival in California in 2024. During their set, the band brought out pop singer Olivia Rodrigo for a rendition of ‘Bathwater’. Alongside their classic hits like ‘Hella Good’ and ‘It’s My Life’, No Doubt performed oldies such as ‘Different People’ for the first time in over 15 years and ‘Total Hate ’95’ for the first time since 2012.
Rodrigo sported a white tank top with “I heart ND” printed on it, with a pair of black trousers and a funky updo. Stefani asked the pop star during their duet: “Olivia Rodrigo, why do good girls like me and you always want the bad boys?” Stefani previously stated she has regrets about the later years of No Doubt’s time together, saying she wishes she had “just been with my family.”
The band had no events scheduled for after the festival’s second weekend, although Stefani said earlier that week that she was “open to anything” despite there being “no concrete plans for touring or new music”. The festival also saw other performers, such as Sublime with late singer Bradley Nowell’s son Jakob, and British quintet The Last Dinner Party. In addition, Vampire Weekend closed out their last-minute Coachella set with a surprise appearance from Paris Hilton and Abraham Lincoln during their country “Cocaine Cowboys” medley.
