Maribou State members Chris Davids and Liam Ivory have announced that they are pausing the production of their joint project due to Davids’ undisclosed health problems. They shared the update on their Instagram account and stated that they will no longer be performing at any upcoming shows. They also announced that they have postponed the release of their next album that has been in production for years now.
The duo has been working on their third full-length album for some time, but had to put it on hold as Davies struggled with a rare brain condition called Chiari malformation. The condition caused him to experience severe headaches, insomnia and worsened mental health. All these symptoms had affected his productivity in the studio and his personal life too.
Although the two did not provide an exact timeline for the pause of their joint project, the announcement confirmed that the album is on hold while Davies seeks health treatment. It is unsure if they will have to cancel more upcoming performances, but they have made it clear that the health of their members comes first.
The statement did not reveal what plans Maribou State has for the future, but they did take the opportunity to thank their fans for their support over the years. Fans of their live shows will have to wait until later to see them performing again. It remains unclear if they will return with another project in the future
