Joe Budden says Drake and Kendrick Lamar are about to “go nuclear” with diss tracks

Rap giant Joe Budden revealed on his podcast that he has insider knowledge that Kendrick Lamar and Drake have both headed into the studio to produce diss tracks against one another, following a recent feud between J. Cole and Lamar. The latter dismissed Cole’s earlier claim that they, along with Drake, were the three main voices of modern rap. In response, Cole issued his own track then quickly apologised for it, a move Budden interpreted as a signal to bow out gracefully.

Budden revealed: “Whatever little rap-y shit you thought was going on, it’s not that and something’s coming. I think that J. Cole knows that from either Drake, Kendrick or both. And it was time to bow out…” Budden went further, proclaiming that both tracks will be “nuclear” and that both rappers are “up, up”, according to insiders who heard the tracks. Budden also criticised Drake’s efforts against Lamar, stating that, “I’ve seen absolutely nothing from Drake to get me excited enough to think that he will be capable of doing what needs to be done against the likes of a Kendrick Lamar.”

Last year, Budden engaged in a public spat with Drake after the former criticised the latter’s album “For All The Dogs”, stating that the album was pandering to a younger audience. Drake hit back, saying that Budden had “failed at music”. Neither Lamar nor Drake has yet commented on rumours of a diss track against one another, either to confirm or deny the claims.

Aside from the much-hyped possibility of a Lamar-Drake feud, fans of 50 Cent are eagerly awaiting the rapper’s response to the feud between Lamar and Cole. Cole had apologised to Lamar on stage, which 50 Cent commented on with a tweet telling Cole to “call my phone”
