Caribou releases first track in two years, ‘Honey’

Electronic musician Caribou has released his first single in two years, called ‘Honey’. The track has already been teased to fans, including at a headline set at BBC Radio 6 festival at The Warehouse Project. The music video has been directed by Richard Kenworthy of Shynola and features trippy artificial intelligence-made visuals. The video also has a flamingo-inspired theme.

Caribou, whose real name is Dan Snaith, has been releasing music under his Daphni alias for the past few years. As Daphni, he has played back-to-back with Floating Points at Four Tet’s Under The K Bridge event this year and is set to play at Coachella’s all-new electronic music stage, Quasar. Before this, Snaith shared his album ‘Suddenly’, which focused on life-changing moments, loss, love, and death.

Of his album, Snaith said, “I feel like when I listen to this album – or at least the mellower moments – I hear the kind of music that wants to comfort, wants to give a big hug, to reassure and be supportive.” ‘You Can Do It’ was the last single Caribou released, which was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2022.
