Nick Cave is gearing up for a European solo live tour this summer. The Bad Seeds singer and songwriter will hit the road in June, accompanied by Radiohead’s bassist Colin Greenwood, and will be performing songs from his extensive catalogue at headline shows. The forthcoming run of dates will begin with three shows in Athens on June 1, 2 and 3 and will include an appearance at the Belgrade River Fest on June 18. Two further performances are scheduled for Musiikkitalo in Helsinki, Finland on June 25, and the Harpa concert hall in Reykjavík, Iceland on July 1.
Tickets for the shows go on sale at 10am local time this Friday (April 12) and can be purchased at Cave’s website. Greenwood has already been a regular in Cave’s band as a touring member and has previously appeared in his joint shows with Warren Ellis. Recently, the Radiohead member has also contributed to the Bad Seeds’ upcoming album “Wild God,” which will be released on August 30.
Cave has also announced that he will embark on a European, UK, and Ireland tour later this year in support of “Wild God,” which he says “feels like it was made for the stage.” He also said that the album is “full of secrets” and is not “set through a lens of loss” unlike his previous albums “Skeleton Tree” (2016) and “Ghosteen” (2019), which dealt with the grief he experienced following the death of his son Arthur in 2015.
In other news, Cave recently criticized “woke culture” for its “lack of mercy” and “lack of forgiveness.
