After wrapping up a North American tour, Arlo Parks took to The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon to perform her latest single ‘Devotion’, which is the final track on her second album ‘My Soft Machine’. During the performance, Parks expressed that ‘Devotion’ is a song about feeling so deeply in love that it almost feels like being ripped apart, with a “wildness and a tenderness” that is reminiscent of Deftones, Yo La Tengo, Smashing Pumpkins, and My Bloody Valentine.
The British singer has been on a roll this year, having co-written Beyoncé’s latest album ‘Cowboy Carter’ track, ‘Ya Ya’ and announcing upcoming performance at All Things Go festival at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Washington, D.C. The festival kicks off in October later this year.
Arlo’s second album ‘My Soft Machine’ has also been making waves with her fans and even British music magazine, NME, giving her latest creation a three-star review. Calling it a “subtle step forward”, they were impressed with her “talent as a songwriter and the deftness of her phrases and structures”. The London-based musician has had a multitude of concerts including a show in Japan where she filmed her latest music video for the track ‘Purple Phase’.
