Ticketmaster has reversed its decision of making Taylor Swift’s UK “Eras” tour dates a lead booker event. This originally meant that the person who purchased tickets for the event had to attend or risk not being allowed in. The change was confirmed on April 3 when Ticketmaster notified ticket-holders via email. The statement from the email read: “The ‘lead booker’ policy has been removed, meaning that the person whose name is on the Ticketmaster account used to purchase tickets is no longer required to attend the event.”
Taylor Swift’s upcoming tour dates were set to kick off on May 9 at the LA Defense Arena in Paris before heading to the UK on June 7 at the BT Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh. A five-star review by NME of Swift’s ‘Eras’ tour in New Jersey called it “a glittering celebration of every era,” noting the star embodied the message behind her song “22” of life being simultaneously “miserable and magical.”
Elsewhere, Swift’s track “Cruel Summer” took tenth place on the UK’s biggest songs of 2024 chart while her albums “1989 (Taylor’s Version)” and “Midnights” landing at third and tenth place on the biggest albums of 2024 chart, respectively. Forbes also released its first-ever Billionaires List which included Swift, as well as NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson and designer Christian Louboutin.
Despite the lead booker rule going through a U-turn, all other terms and conditions remain the same as Swift’s “Eras” tour kicks off in May
