Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, two members of the rock band Nine Inch Nails, are working on exciting projects for the near future. In an interview with GQ, they revealed plans for creating a new album, a music festival, a TV series with The Bear creator Christopher Storer, a film with horror director Mike Flanagan, and a fashion line with an unnamed designer. The duo also shared their involvement in scoring films, including Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming erotic movie Queer, 2022’s Bones And All, and 2024’s Challengers, which stars celebrity Zendaya.
Reznor and Ross further spoke about their unique extended reality gaming experience in partnership with Epic Games, which they believe could potentially transform storytelling and artistic experiences in the future. Ross expressed excitement about the band’s next album, noting that they have an idea of what they want to do and where they want to take it. Additionally, they are set to debut as composers at a festival alongside a plethora of other interesting artists.
While there is much to look forward to in their upcoming projects, Reznor also took a moment to reflect on the past as he commemorated the 30th anniversary of Nine Inch Nails’ classic album, The Downward Spiral. He described the album as a “time capsule of what 28 year old me had to say,” expressing both his excitement and sadness when listening to it now.
