Pouria Zeraati, an Iranian TV journalist, has been stabbed outside his London home. Counter-terrorism officers from the Metropolitan Police are investigating the attack, which took place on Friday. Zeraati is now staying in a safe house, and speaking through a friend, vowed that he would carry on his work, no matter who was behind the attack. His employer said they had received threats from the Iranian regime, but Iran denied any involvement.
Zeraati’s friend, Kasra Aarabi, an outspoken critic of the regime in Tehran and a colleague of the journalist who researches the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps, said that his friend was in a positive frame of mind and recovering. Aarabi described the attack as horrific but said that Zeraati had told him he wouldn’t be silenced. “Pouria has told me, regardless of who is behind this, he’ll carry on.”
