Biography on the life and career of MF DOOM set for release this year

Journalist S. H. Fernando JR, otherwise known as SKIZ, has written a biography about the life and career of MF DOOM. The book, titled “The Chronicles of DOOM: Unraveling Rap’s Masked Iconoclast,” chronicles the late rapper’s different personas, projects, and backstories through five parts: The Man, The Myth, The Mask, The Music, and The Legend. The biography features exclusive interviews, insights, and influences that helped shape DOOM’s career.

The book delves into various aspects of DOOM’s life, from being part of the hip hop group KMD to his first-ever masked show and his love for cartoons and comics. The biography culminates with an in-depth look at DOOM’s legacy, which fans expressed gratitude for during the 20th anniversary celebration of DOOM and Madlib’s album, “Madvillainy.” The album has been highly influential and beloved by many.

DOOM passed away three years ago from an adverse reaction to blood pressure medication at St. James’ University Hospital in Leeds. He was 49 years old. Fans have continued celebrating his life and work, and in 2021, it was reported that DOOM had nearly completed a follow-up to his critically acclaimed collaboration with Madlib. DJ Peanut Butter Wolf, who founded the label that released “Madvillainy,” explained on the podcast show “Juan Ep is Dead” that DOOM sent him 11 tracks for the project back in 2009. He added that DOOM wanted to delay the release to finish up a few more songs.

SKIZ’s book can be pre-ordered and is expected to be released sometime later this year. It provides an in-depth look at an artist who was not only a talented rapper and producer but also a unique personality in the music industry. DOOM’s influence continues to be felt in the music industry, and fans and artists alike continue to pay tribute to his contributions to the genre
