Frankie Muniz says he stormed off ‘Malcolm in the Middle’ set and didn’t return for two episodes

During his time competing in the Australian version of “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!”, actor Frankie Muniz shared an incident from his time on the set of “Malcolm in the Middle”. Muniz revealed that he had once walked off set and refused to return for two episodes. He explained that the reason for his departure was due to the behaviour of “certain people” on set. Muniz was fourteen when he began acting on the show and was upset by the way some members of the production team were controlling, rude, and disrespectful.

The actor was so mortified by seeing people afraid to stand up for themselves, he said, “Say something.” Muniz didn’t care if they told him he was never going back, because it was worth it to him. He felt he could make a difference and acting as a role model, no matter the consequences, was the right thing to do. Additionally, it helped that the show was based around him, which seemingly gave him more leverage in the situation.

Just last week, Muniz made an announcement that “Malcolm in the Middle” was the “closest it’s ever been” to having a reboot. Muniz commented on the situation, saying that while there’s nothing officially confirmed, it was the closest it has ever been to being a reality. He stated that if it happens, it’ll be soon but they’ve been saying that for eight years. Furthermore, this echoes the sentiments expressed by Bryan Cranston last year in an exclusive interview with “NME”. Cranston played father Hal in the series before his pivotal role as Walter White in “Breaking Bad.” Cranston explained that he has a greater appreciation for the show now and would love to dive in with all the characters again to do it justice.

In other news, Muniz recently responded to speculation that he was “dying.” The actor took to social media to put the record straight regarding rumors about his health. The post concerned a recent emergency hospitalization and by posting a video explaining the situation, revealed that he was back in full health
