Eddie Vedder thinks Pearl Jam have “one or two” good records left in them

Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder has revealed that he believes the band has “one or two” good records left in them. Speaking to MOJO Magazine ahead of the release of their 12th studio album, “Dark Matter,” Vedder said that “the goal is to keep making music” and that “the older you get the better you are at living in the present.”

Reflecting on the passing of close friends such as Chris Cornell, Mark Lanegan, and Layne Stanley, Vedder said that he now finds himself leaning on the relationships with those who are still around. “It really hits you when you are in a situation where that person would be there. And you’re sad for them that they’re not. But it makes you realise you gotta be healthy. You want to be around for your kids. You want to make good records.”

Pearl Jam recently released their latest single, “Running,” ahead of the album’s release on April 19. Describing the making of the album, lead guitarist Stone Gossard said that bassist Jeff Ament had the main parts for the song and that the band worked on it together in rehearsals.

To celebrate the release of “Dark Matter,” Pearl Jam will be screening a one-night-only event, “Dark Matter – Global Theatrical Experience,” on April 16 in over 225 locations nationwide. The band is also set to kick off an extensive world tour in May, beginning in Vancouver and ending in Sydney in November.

Finally, Vedder recently joined The Who on stage during the band’s Teenage Cancer Trust show in London
