Matty Healy, lead vocalist of The 1975, has released a new solo track titled ‘Loads Of Crisps’ through his Truman Black moniker on his Soundcloud page. The track was previously shared as a demo by the band in 2022. In 2019, Healy shared a picture of a painting with the same name, which he auctioned for charity at the time. The 1975 recently announced an indefinite hiatus after completing their world tour for their recent album ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language.’
During their recent European tour, The 1975 surprised fans by performing their early rarity ‘Anobrain’ live for the first time in eight years at the Palladium venue in Cologne, Germany. The song was originally released in 2013 as part of their “Music For Cars” EP and has not been included in a setlist by the band since the end of 2016. The rarity also made it into The 1975’s follow-up show in Amsterdam the next night as the band finished the tour.
Last month, Healy confirmed that The 1975 has already begun work on a new album, teasing a new song during a gig in Birmingham on February 21. Healy recently attempted to buy the flat at the center of the Night & Day Cafe noise dispute in Manchester to help save the venue.
Healy’s solo endeavor follows The 1975’s commitment to an indefinite hiatus, during which fans will have the chance to enjoy his music. The surprise performance of ‘Anobrain’ brought audiences to their feet in reminiscence of the band’s earlier hits. Fans are eagerly anticipating any news about the highly anticipated album currently in the works
