Kazzy Minton and her husband Lee, from Freshwater East in Pembrokeshire, have won nearly £80,000 in prizes, including luxury holidays, by entering up to 50 competitions per day since March 2021. So far, the couple have won 857 prizes. Some of their most recent wins include all-expenses-paid holidays to Colombia and Norway, a £6,000 trip to Wrexham AFC, a weekend at an English manor house during the Euros, and a £4,000 diamond ring.
Kazzy and Lee are both business owners; Lee owns a tattoo parlour and Kazzy has a sewing shop in Pembroke, and works as an independent social worker. Despite their busy schedules, Kazzy spends two hours per day entering competitions. Kazzy is a self-declared ‘comper’, which refers to individuals who participate in competitions habitually to win as many prizes as possible.
According to Kazzy, her success is due to her focus on “effort competitions”, where individuals are required to submit a video, photo, or participate in more complex activities. She avoids free online competitions which are expected to have a high number of participants. Kazzy’s use of this strategy has earned her all of her recent wins.
Kazzy says that she finds a sense of community from the comper community on Facebook where competitors share information and supports one another. Despite common stereotypes surrounding compers, Kazzy believes that they are hardworking individuals who enter competitions during their limited free time
