“Fuck yeah!” – watch St. Vincent’s reaction to Dave Grohl recording drums for ‘Flea’

St. Vincent has given fans a sneak peek into her recording process through a video showing her reaction to Dave Grohl recording drums for her upcoming song ‘Flea’. The musician had shared the track featuring Grohl, which is the second song off her forthcoming album ‘All Born Screaming’, last month. She also spoke of working with the Foo Fighters’ frontman on ‘Broken Man’, revealing that “from the beginning of the song, it’s a slow-burn”. The song grows over time, “climbing the mountain” until Grohl comes in at the end “with this absolute reckless spirit and just takes it to the edge”, she said.

In the video clip, St. Vincent watches Grohl recording the drums in one room while she air drums in another room. After Grohl finishes recording, she runs into the room, shouting excitedly, “Fucking fuck yeah!, Fuck yeah!” to which Grohl claps his hands and laughs. The artist revealed that Grohl is one of three drummers on the track and his contributions have helped lift the song to new heights, saying, “I needed to go places I hadn’t gone sonically before”.

St. Vincent recently announced details of her North American tour, set to begin in April. The tour is scheduled to feature Spoon, Yves Tumour, Dorian Electra, Momma, and Eartheater as support guests. Tickets for the tour go on sale on April 5. ‘All Born Screaming’ is set to be released on April 26
