AURORA talks ‘What Happened To The Heart?’: “Apathy is the biggest enemy to progress”

AURORA is currently in the process of writing her fourth album, ‘What Happened To The Heart?’. This journey was sparked by discovering a letter co-written by indigenous activists in April 2022, entitled ‘We Are the Earth’, which called for mankind to “heal the land” through our hearts. From there, AURORA delved into exploring the symbolism and purpose of the heart. In a world full of war and a planet dying, this message is pertinent and AURORA believes that a more organic and loving way of living needs to be reclaimed.

AURORA highlights the importance of the heart as a symbol for spirituality and human connection that has been referenced throughout history. However, in a world where people are “just acting with our mind, not acting with our hearts at all,” she believes it is crucial to put love and empathy back into all aspects of life. She notes that this is not something that is encouraged by those “on top of it all,” but that it is necessary nonetheless. “What happened to the heart? It’s the most important, beautiful and sad question I’ve ever wondered in my life,” AURORA concludes.

In an interview with NME, AURORA discusses the current state of the world and her hopes for a brighter future. She acknowledges that people have grown accustomed to being apathetic and have lost touch with one another and the planet. The overabundance of information and misinformation has made it difficult for people to be truly persistent in their activism. However, she believes that there are good things happening even amidst all the chaos and strife. AURORA emphasizes the need for real change and liberation rather than just peace and speeches about peace.

AURORA recognizes that it is difficult to find the energy and courage to make positive changes in the world when everything can feel so overwhelming. But she encourages people to do the small things that can bring them peace and make the world a better place. She highlights the importance of being in touch with ourselves and each other. It is through this connection that we can overcome apathy and create a more loving future.

Throughout her interview, AURORA shares her thoughts on a world where people are constantly being lied to, manipulated, and disconnected. She laments the fact that so much is happening in the shadows and is not being reported on. People are tired of being pacified with peace and want real change. Despite the challenges, AURORA’s message is one of hope and the importance of staying connected to our hearts and one another
