Ibiza’s famously beloved institution, Pikes, is set to launch its new party, MONDAYS, next month and will run throughout the summer until the end of August. Pikes owner Andy McKay, formerly known as Andy Manumission, is the mastermind behind the event, calling it a “party focused on the people and the dancefloor”. McKay stated that MONDAYS will “nod to the past three decades” of Ibiza clubbing, intending to “kick back against the DJ worship era”.
“I feel the values of that time are missed, so let’s bring them back,” McKay said. “Returning to my alter ego Andy Manumission has sent memories flooding back. It’s great to remember the cultural significance of that Manumission era.”
MONDAYS will occur at Pikes for the debut on April 29th and will continue to run through the summer season ending on August 19th. The lineup will not be announced ahead of time for added surprise.
Despite the new party, Ibiza’s tourism has come under scrutiny recently. Tourists travelling to Ibiza without proper accommodation can face fines up to €8,000. Despite this, the island’s authorities aim to tackle its high level of tourism, increasing sustainability efforts and launching multiple eco-friendly programs in addition to the MONDAYS summer party
