Scott Kingsley Swift, Taylor Swift’s father, will not face charges after being accused of assaulting a paparazzo in Sydney, Australia. Police investigators began looking into the matter after receiving a complaint from Ben McDonald, who alleged that Swift punched him after his daughter left a super-yacht at Neutral Bay and walked up the wharf, surrounded by security guards. McDonald alleges that these guards also used umbrellas to push photographers back and that Swift’s father joined in by throwing a punch. McDonald told the Sydney Morning Herald that he was sore but uninjured after the incident and had left the matter in the hands of the police.

Swift was in Sydney as part of her Eras world tour, which has since been confirmed as the first tour to gross over $1 billion, and was wrapping up the Australian leg of the tour. She performed at the Accor Stadium in Sydney, where she was joined by Sabrina Carpenter for a mash-up of “White Horse” and “Coney Island,” and in Melbourne, where she played to her largest audience yet.
Swift has since continued her tour with six shows at Singapore’s National Stadium. She is due to resume the European leg of the tour in May, starting with a show at LA Défense Arena in Paris. She will be supported by Paramore. In the meantime, she is releasing a new album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” on April 19, which she announced at this year’s Grammy Awards.
Following investigations by the North Shore Police Command, it has been determined that there is insufficient evidence to take any further action in the case
