Lead singer, Paul Smith, formulated the song as an ode to how pop music can provide solace and a retreat for listeners. In addition to the track, the band has also released a black-and-white music video, with Smith performing directly to the camera while visuals of the city swirl around him.
Maxïmo Park’s upcoming tour of the UK and Europe will commence on October 8 in Dublin, with follow-up performances in other UK cities until London on October 18. After that, the band will travel to Amsterdam on November 4 to launch their European dates. The tour will consist of nine shows, including stops in Paris, Cologne, Copenhagen, Munich, and more. Tickets will be available for general sale from March 28.
