Tyla teases potential collaboration with BLACKPINK’s Lisa

South African singer Tyla has revealed that she is in talks with BLACKPINK’s Lisa to collaborate on a new song. Tyla posted a video on her Instagram Stories of herself and the Thai K-pop idol listening to a song from Tyla’s latest album. She captioned the post indicating that a collaboration was possible. Since then, Tyla confirmed during an interview that they are discussing a potential collaboration.

Lisa launched her own artist management company, LLOUD, in February, after her contract with YG Entertainment for solo activities expired. However, she and the rest of BLACKPINK re-signed with the K-pop agency for their activities as a group. Jennie and Jisoo, Lisa’s bandmates, have also started their own labels, Odd Atelier and Blissoo, respectively. The fourth and final member of the group, Rosé, has yet to announce her future label plans as a solo artist, but she has teased a new song called ‘vampirehollie’.

Earlier this month, BLACKPINK officially joined Spotify’s ‘Billions Club’ with their hit 2020 single ‘How You Like That’. Lisa previously made it to the list with her viral solo song ‘Money’.

Tyla’s self-titled debut album was released in March 2024. The album has been well received by critics. In a review, it was said that the album “proves she’s no one-hit wonder”. It seems that the potential collaboration with Lisa will add to Tyla’s success. Tyla appears to be looking to expand her reach beyond the borders of South Africa as she ventures into a collaboration with one of the biggest K-pop groups in the world
