The Black Keys add third London Brixton Academy show to Spring 2024 UK and Ireland tour

The Black Keys have added an extra date to their tour at London’s Brixton Academy in 2024, following high demand for tickets. The tour is set to promote their upcoming album, Ohio Players, which is being heavily anticipated by fans. The album, set to be released on April 5, 2024, is a follow-up to their hugely successful Dropout Boogie album from 2022.

The band is set to perform across the UK starting on April 27, beginning with a show at the new Co-op Live arena in Manchester. From there, they will move to Cardiff and Dublin before finishing with three back-to-back nights at the O2 Academy Brixton between May 7-9. The two previously announced shows in London on May 7 and 8 have already sold out, with the newly added date on May 9 ensuring more fans can get a chance to see the band.

The O2 Academy Brixton was previously closed in December 2022 after a fatal crowd crush at an Asake concert, which left two people dead and a third in critical condition. The future of the iconic London venue was thrown into question following the tragedy, with Lambeth Council suspending the venue’s license and the Metropolitan Police reportedly pushing for the location to close its doors for good as it faced indefinite closure. However, after an online petition and strong support from industry professionals to save the venue, it has now been allowed to retain its license and re-open with “robust” safety rules in place.

Tickets for The Black Keys’ show at London’s Brixton Academy go on sale this Thursday (March 28) at 9:30am local time and can be found on Ticketmaster’s website. Following the lead single, Beautiful People (Stay High), the duo has also teased fans with another single, I Forgot To Be Your Lover, from their upcoming album Ohio Players, which is set to feature collaborations with Noel Gallagher, Beck, and other notable artists in the industry
