Positive changes for Liverpool City Council Social Care telephone enquiries

Liverpool City Council has undertaken another significant step towards improving and expanding their phone services for Adult Social Care and Children’s Services. The replacement of Careline service is finalised with a brand new number, 0151 459 2606. Two new services are introduced, one for adults, known as ‘Adult Access’, and one for children, known as ‘Children’s Advice and Support Service’. The call forwarding process ensures that callers get guidance as per their complex enquiries, relevant to either adult or children’s services as required.

If you dial the old Careline number, you will get a recorded message, informing you of the modifications, which then forwards you to the new number and the online support options. ‘Adult Access’ focuses on introducing new techniques promoting health and wellbeing, specifically for new residents who are unknown to Adult Social Care. The opening hours are 8 am to 10 pm, Monday to Friday. This facility is being offered in three distinct areas of expertise namely information, advice & guidance, safeguarding support, and a multi-disciplinary verdict offering reablement support. Reablement, targeting people who need care and support intends at helping them regain confidence by encouraging them to indulge in active healthy activities in their community.

The ‘Children’s Advice and Support Service (CASS),’ offers bespoke and professional support to children who require assistance or protection. Another benefit is the streamlined process for families who need to contact Early Help Services. The opening hours of this service also run from 8 am to 10 pm on weekdays, but CASS aims at being a single point of contact for both professionals and members of the general public who are concerned about young people or children welfare. The CASS thus forms a dedicated front door for Children’s Social Care, and it is a critical step towards providing exemplary service to the youngsters and their families of Liverpool.

Liverpool City Council imposing changes for Adult Social Care and Children’s Services, forming a milestone on their improvement journey, will enhance their service and guide people towards better and healthier coping mechanisms. The new number will facilitate easy access to the range of services available according to the caller’s varying requirements
