Black Panther director Ryan Coogler is set to produce, while writer Bryan Edward Hill is attached to writing the script. Prince’s 1985 film Purple Rain is also set to be adapted into its stage musical. It will be based on the original screenplay, set to be produced by Orin Wolf, who previously adapted The Band’s Visit stage version.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the upcoming jukebox musical movie will feature Prince’s music.
