Following Princess Catherine’s cancer diagnosis, royal commentator Paddy Harverson has asked the public to give her and Prince William time to heal. He stated that King Charles is “very resilient” despite also receiving cancer treatment. Harverson believes that once the Royal Family gets through this period, “things will get back to normal.” The announcement of Catherine’s cancer treatment came after weeks of speculation about her condition.

Kensington Palace has offered no details on the type of cancer detected, but they are confident that the princess will have a full recovery. King Charles put his public appearances on hold six weeks ago when he received his cancer diagnosis. The King and Princess received treatment at the same clinic in London. Mr Harverson does not think that recent illnesses have made the Royal Family “more fragile.”

In an interview with the BBC, Harverson praised Kensington Palace’s handling of the situation with Catherine’s diagnosis. He emphasized that the Royal Family is not just an institution but also a family. Therefore, the family must be dealt with as individuals. Harverson also criticized the “permanent death loop” of social media and the public’s ongoing speculation about Catherine’s health.

The royal couple has received an outpouring of support from the public following Catherine’s diagnosis. Kensington Palace confirmed that the Prince and Princess of Wales were “enormously touched” by the number of kind messages they received. The couple announced that they will not be attending Easter Sunday’s service, but it is unclear if King Charles will lead his family to church. Buckingham Palace has said they hope the King will be able to join his family next weekend.

Lastly, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have reached out to Prince William and Princess Catherine since her diagnosis. If interested, the public can watch a BBC News special program on how the princess revealed her cancer diagnosis in a video message to the nation
