A Perfect Circle have announced that drummer Josh Freese will rejoin the band for their upcoming joint headline tour in North America, some 13 years after leaving. The tour, which was announced in November, will feature A Perfect Circle, Puscifer and Primer, and will kick off in Boston on April 2nd. The ‘Sessanta Tour’ is marking Maynard James Keenan’s 60th birthday, with the three bands rotating in and out over the course of a night.
Freese, who also permanently joined Foo Fighters in 2023, had been a member of A Perfect Circle from 1998 to 2012. He will play with them again for the first leg of the tour, until April 20th in Los Angeles, after which he will rejoin Foo Fighters. Gunnar Olsen from Puscifer will replace Freese for any remaining tour dates.
Freese expressed his excitement for going out with A Perfect Circle on Instagram: “I’m really looking forward to getting out and playing these songs again.” The tour has included dates in Boston, Mashantucket, Raleigh, Irving, and Phoenix.
This tour marks A Perfect Circle’s first run of shows since 2018, when they embarked on both US and European dates in support of “Eat The Elephant”, their fourth studio album. Keenan, meanwhile, has been training boxer Mike Tyson for his fight against Jake Paul on July 20th.
