Blanket Jackson, the youngest son of Michael Jackson, has filed a legal injunction against his grandmother Katherine. According to TMZ, the 22-year-old, whose real name is Bigi Jackson, wants to prevent his grandmother from using Michael’s estate money to fight in a legal battle. Blanket filed documents to stop Katherine from funding an appeal of a previous ruling that he is not involved in.
It is reported that Blanket and Katherine were working together to stop the executors of Michael’s estate from going through with a large business transaction that they strongly opposed. According to sources, the documents do not disclose details of the transaction, but it could be related to the recent landmark deal that the estate made with Sony to sell half of Michael’s music catalogue for $600million.
The court ruled against them, which brought the legal issue to a close, but it is said that Katherine has decided to appeal the ruling. Blanket has taken issue with his father’s estate paying for her legal bills, claiming that he does not think the appeal will be successful, and the expensive legal bills that come with it will devalue the estate further.
