‘Old School Runescape’ introduces huge new area Valamore in latest update

Old School Runescape has received a significant update that introduced a brand new area on the game’s existing Gielinor map. The newly added area, Valamore, features many exciting features such as quests, boss battles, contests, and different ways of honing existing skills, including the ability to train thieving in the streets of Civitas illa Fortis. Players accessing Valamore must have already completed the Children of the Sun request and can access the new area via a giant quetzal bird at Varrock’s eastern gate.

The Valamore expansion, also known as The Shining Kingdom, offers Old School Runescape fans several new and exciting features. Experienced players can embark on the Valamore questline with Twilight’s Promise and open the Quetzal Transport Network. Mid-level players can participate in the Perilous Moons quest, which allows them to fight three demi-bosses and earn exciting rewards. Additionally, a new hunting guild can be found inside the city, while new shooting star crash sites and a new low-intensity mining area can be discovered.

Fortis Colosseum offers a new wave-based combat minigame with Valamore that offers a single-player experience with increasing difficulty levels as gamers progress. Players can choose to either swallow their pride and take their winning loot, or risk it all to continue playing. Players can also adjust a variety of modifiers between waves to tweak the difficulty level. Many rewards can be earned, including the ranged-boosting Dizana’s quiver, prayer-boosting Fanatic Armour, new sunfire runes and Dizana’s Glaive, a new thrown weapon.

The Valamore update for Old School Runescape launched recently and is the first of three planned updates for the area. Jagex, the developers behind the popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game franchise RuneScape, has confirmed that it is working on an HD update for Old School Runescape to be released in the coming months. In the meantime, the creator of RuneScape and co-founder of Jagex, Andrew Gower, has unveiled a trailer for his upcoming RPG Brighter Shores
