Netflix has shared a teaser trailer for the upcoming dark comedy Kaos, featuring a neurotic version of Zeus played by Jeff Goldblum. The show is set to debut on the streaming platform later in 2024 and will run for eight episodes. The creator and writer of the show is Charlie Covell, known for directing The End of the F***ing World on Channel 4. The synopsis tells the story of Zeus who becomes paranoid due to his belief that a wrinkle on his forehead is a sign of his impending doom. Zeus will reportedly start to self-destruct as his paranoia takes over.
David Thewlis, known for his role in Harry Potter and Fargo, will play Hades. Janet McTeer of Ozark and Stanley Townsend of Belgravia will take on the roles of Hera and Hestia, respectively. The show will also have additional writing credits from Georgia Christou.
In the show, Zeus will be friends with Prometheus, however, Prometheus is planning to bring Zeus down and uses three humans who are unaware of their cosmic significance to help him achieve this. Toby Haynes, whose directing credits include Black Mirror, Sherlock, and the upcoming Rogue One series on Disney Plus, directs the show.
Earlier in 2020, Goldblum released his latest EP with The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, called Plays Well With Others, featuring collaborations with Kelly Clarkson and Mattiel. The actor has also shared multiple behind-the-scenes duets with his Jurassic Park co-star Sam Neill, including a version of The Everly Brothers’ “Bye Bye Love” and the old standard “I Remember You.
