K-pop singer Seunghee has announced her departure from Cube Entertainment, the K-pop agency that has represented her as both a musician and actress since 2015. Seunghee had been with the company for nine years. Cube Entertainment confirmed the news in a statement on their Twitter account. The statement noted that Seunghee’s contract with the company had expired.
“We at Cube Entertainment inform you that our exclusive contract with actor Oh Seung-hee, who has been with us for 9 years since March 2015, has ended,” Cube Entertainment said in their statement. “We express our deepest gratitude to Oh Seung-hee, who has displayed endless passion and talent as an artist under Cube. We will be sincerely cheering on her next steps as an actor, who will continue to thrive in quality work in the future.”
Seunghee is the fifth member of the K-pop band CLC to leave Cube Entertainment. Only Yujin and Eunbin are currently managed by the company. Yunjin is now promoting as a member of project group Kep1er, which will disband later this year once their two-year contract has come to an end.
In May 2022, Cube Entertainment announced the abrupt end of CLC’s activities as a band. “We would like to express our sincere appreciation to you for your love and support for CLC,” the label said at the time. The announcement came after bandmates Seungyeon and Yeeun had left the label in March 2022 when their contracts expired. Sorn departed from the company in November 2021, while Elkie left in February of the same year.
