Anti-Flag’s Justin Sane “plans to flee to Europe,” claims rape accuser

Justin Sane, the former frontman of punk rock band Anti-Flag, has been accused of getting ready to run away to Europe following allegations of sexual misconduct. The accusations, made by New York holistic therapist and health coach Kristina Sarhadi in a lawsuit against Sane last year, state that the singer used his position of influence to coax vulnerable girls into feeling protected around him. While he sang songs about standing up to abusers and safeguarding women, he was said to harbor a secret addiction to power and control.

Sarhadi, who has now amended her complaint, has claimed that Sane has tried to evade service in the suit that she initiated against him last year.

Anti-Flag’s break-up was announced all of a sudden in July 2024. Shortly before that, Kristina Sarhadi spoke on the Enough podcast about being raped by a prominent political punk band singer, who many think was Justin Sane. In a few days, more than a dozen other women have stepped forward with comparable allegations, some which go back as far as the 1990s.

Anti-Flag released a statement after their break-up that said they believe all survivors of sexual abuse and violence. They stated that the accusations against Sane had made it impossible for the band to continue. Sane stated that he had never had a non-consensual relationship or been accused by a lady of being forceful or dominating toward her after a sexual encounter
