Mel B, of Spice Girls fame, has hinted at the possibility of a reunion for the iconic British girl group at this year’s Glastonbury Festival. Although the official line-up for the festival has been announced with Shania Twain filling the legends slot, Mel B has suggested that fans shouldn’t dismiss the idea just yet.
The news comes after Mel B and other members of the group hinted at an upcoming reunion to celebrate their 30th anniversary. While she has been coy about any concrete plans, Mel B did also express her wish to get the group back into the studio, which would delight their legions of fans.
Mel B also suggested that the group had plans together, but that she couldn’t divulge them just yet. “Loose lips sink ships and I’m not about to sink the ship,” she said. Though fans will no doubt be desperate to find out what they’re planning, they’ll have to wait patiently for any news to emerge.
Despite past reunions in 2007, 2012, and 2018, the Spice Girls’ legion of fans remains desperate to see the group perform together again after their 2000 split. In 2019, the group did a 10-stop tour of the UK and Ireland, though they did so without Victoria Beckham.
While the band members have shut down rumors of reunions in the past, Mel C and Emma Bunton expressed their confidence that the band would return to the stage after COVID-19. Additionally, the British girl group was recently featured on a series of limited-edition stamps issued by Royal Mail to celebrate their anniversary.
