Anthony Bourdain and Patton Oswalt became good friends over Bourdain’s love of the Disney film, Ratatouille. Oswalt starred in the 2007 Oscar-winning film voicing Remy, a rat who dreams of becoming a chef. The comic, while appearing as a guest on Watch What Happens Live, shared that he and Bourdain bonded over their shared adoration of Ratatouille. “[Bourdain] was like, ‘They got kitchens and chefs right. It’s very, very accurate,'” Oswalt recalled.
As well as their ancient love of chef-powered animations, Bourdain also provided Oswalt and his wife, the american crime writer, Michelle McNamara, with advice on what they should do on their honeymoon in Paris. Oswalt recalled Bourdain sent the pair a poetic message telling them not to worry and wander in Paris. Telling them, “You gotta wander around, and let it happen”. However, Oswalt added that they quickly found out that works well if you’re Anthony Bourdain, but if you’re Patton Oswalt, you need to make reservations.
Elsewhere, actor and comedian Patton Oswalt has a new role in the forthcoming Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire. The film features the original cast Ernie Hudson, Dan Aykroyd, Annie Potts, and Bill Murray. After the extraordinary backlash of 2016’s reboot, Ghostbusters fans have been waiting to see the classic cast reprise their roles and are much anticipative of the sequel.
Bourdain, the famous chef who had built his reputation on his ability to host fascinating conversations about life, spent most of his career showcasing cultures and cuisines worldwide on TV shows, including Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and No Reservations. The chef died in 2018, and his documentary, Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain, was released earlier in July 2021. The documentary charts his life, career, and tragic death by suicide.”>
