Louie Vega has confirmed that he and Kenny Dope are currently working on new Nuyorican Soul and Masters At Work albums. In an interview with DJ Mag, the New York house legend shared that he and his longtime collaborator have already made significant progress on a new Nuyorican Soul album, stating “We already did about nine tracks, and it’s feeling really good”.
However, Vega revealed that the duo isn’t just focused on those two projects. They are also involved in an album with Brian Jackson, former musical partner to Gil Scott-Heron. Plus, they’re continuing their ongoing collaboration with Josh Milan titled Two Soul Fusion. Vega and Dope seem to have been busy since they announced that they were working on these projects, as they recently shared ‘Lost Jig,’ the fourteenth entry in their series of ‘MAW Lost Tapes.’
Although no release dates have been revealed yet, the news of new music from Masters At Work and Nuyorican Soul is exciting for fans who have been waiting for new material from the legendary duo. Having shaped the true sound of house music since the late ’80s, the influential duo is responsible for some of the all-time classic tracks.
