German electronic duo FJAAK has just announced the release of their third full-length album, titled ‘FJAAK THE SYSTEM’, on May 14 under their imprint SPANDAU20. The album features collaborations with Modeselektor, Skee Mask, Red Eye, and former FJAAK member J.Manuel. The 23-track record is described as painting a picture of FJAAK’s “utopian club ideal” and will cover various genres and elements, including UK breakbeat, techno, 2-step, drum ‘n’ bass, jungle, trip-hop, and ambient music.
In addition to the album announcement, FJAAK also released the lead single from the album, ‘Redemption’, along with a music video on YouTube. FJAAK’s advanced technical know-how and love of synthesizers and drum machines helps them formulate a sound that’s conscious of dance music history, but focused on a brighter, more equitable future.
The German duo has been busy since they turned into a duo from a trio to pursue solo projects and launched platform and label SPANDAU20, from which the upcoming album is now to be released. FJAAK is set to embark on a US tour soon, and they currently have confirmed shows ahead at Junction 2, Boomtown, Awakenings, OFF Sonar, DGTL, Pollerwiesen, and Nuits Sonores.
