K-pop girl group BABYMONSTER will feature a song called “Like That” in their upcoming mini-album “BABYMONS7ER,” which was gifted to them by American singer-songwriter Charlie Puth. YG Entertainment shared a video of their founder, Yang Hyun-suk, breaking down the tracks on the upcoming album, including the Puth gift. Yang explained that this was in response to BABYMONSTER member Ahyeon’s viral cover of Puth’s song “Dangerously,” which has over 39 million views on YouTube.
According to Yang, Puth is an artist he admires and the BABYMONSTER members are big fans, so the gift was a “huge gift” for them and their fans. The video also featured other tracks on the album, including “Monsters,” “Sheesh,” and new versions of their earlier releases “Batter Up” and “Stuck In The Middle.” “Sheesh” was described by Yang as a new style for BABYMONSTER, with “an element of darkness.”
The group’s mini-album is set to release on April 1. The album’s title “BABYMONS7ER” is likely inspired by Ahyeon’s return to the group, which will make them a septet again. Ahyeon was unable to debut with the group in November due to health reasons.
BABYMONSTER debuted last year and quickly became popular for their blend of hip-hop, R&B, and jazz. They were co-produced by Yoon Jong-shin and the company’s veteran producer Teddy Park. With such impressive and versatile talent, fans are eagerly waiting for their upcoming mini-album and Charlie Puth’s gifted song
