Weezer celebrated their 30th anniversary Blue Album tour by playing a special anniversary show in Los Angeles. The show took place at the Lodge Room in Los Angeles and had a capacity of 500 people. Keanu Reeves’ band, Dogstar, opened for Weezer, mirroring the first-ever show by Weezer in 1992, where they opened for Dogstar.

The Floridian musician and Euphoria star, Dominic Fike, joined Weezer in the special anniversary show to play their classic hit, “Say It Ain’t So.” Weezer had previously teamed up with Fike as a guest feature on his second album “Sunburn.”

Weezer announced a “Blue Album” tour, which will begin in the US in 2024, to celebrate their 30th anniversary. The tour will start in St. Paul, Minnesota, and finish in Dallas, covering cities such as New York, Boston, Nashville, and Orlando. The band also has plans to tour with The Smashing Pumpkins in the UK in June of this year.

In an interview with NME, Rivers Cuomo, the lead singer of Weezer, talked about building an online community of fans who “like big guitars and weird lyrics,” echoing the band’s musical philosophy. He also discussed the Discord community for fans, which he created. Cuomo observed that Weezer’s fans share the same musical values, with a love for catchy and emotionally resonant songs with complex melodies, big guitars, and progressive yet challenging lyrics.

In other news, Weezer made a cameo appearance in Netflix’s Christmas show, Family Switch, where they played a garage rock band called Dad or Alive
