Josh Homme, the frontman for Queens of the Stone Age, has expressed his desire to reunite his supergroup, Them Crooked Vultures. The group also features Dave Grohl of Foo Fighters and John Paul Jones, the bassist for Led Zeppelin. The band released their self-titled debut album in 2009 but has not released any new music since.
In a Reddit AMA session, Homme said that he “would love to get the band back together” but reiterated that “it’s sort of not my job to put Vultures back together, that’s Dave [Grohl]’s job. My job is to dance around, write words, and try to write some music.” However, he clarified that he has spoken with Grohl about his eagerness to reform the band.
Grohl has also expressed his own hopes for a Vultures reunion in 2021, stating that he hopes “someday we do it again.” He previously described how the group began, saying that it started when he was invited to give the members of Led Zeppelin an award in London. When they began playing together, they quickly realized that they had something special.
While the group has not released any new music, they did reunite briefly in 2022 to play at the late Taylor Hawkins’ tribute concert. In other news, Queens of the Stone Age has announced a new tour in the US alongside Royal Blood and The Struts as support. The tour will begin in April and continue through July, with tickets available through Ticketmaster
