London-based singer Mae Muller is set to headline the upcoming Club NME event at the Scala on April 12. Self Esteem will DJ alongside a TBA special guest to entertain revellers after Muller’s live set, with doors opening at 8pm and the event running until 1am. Ticket holders will be admitted on a first-come first-served basis, and those arriving after 8pm may not be able to see the live performance.
Following Courteeners in London and Blossoms in Manchester, Muller’s live Club NME performance is the latest entertainment collaboration between NME and brand new interactive platform Ladbrokes LIVE. As all tickets are being kept free, this partnership allows music lovers the opportunity to connect closely with their favourite artists.
Last year, Mae Muller launched her debut album Sorry I’m Late and also represented the UK at Eurovision. Meanwhile, Self Esteem most recently starred in Cabaret on the West End alongside Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears.
Club NME “were our formative years in those places with the lights out and stumbling over everybody,” according to Courteeners’ frontman Liam Fray, who described them as “a whirlwind.” Previous editions of the event have included a rowdy greatest hits set by Courteeners at London’s EartH in Hackney, followed by a surprise DJ set from The Libertines’ Carl Barât and Gary Powell. Blossoms performed live at the Club Academy in Manchester last month, ahead of a huge outdoor show at the city’s Wythenshawe Park in August.
Ladbrokes LIVE is digital entertainment designed to reward fans with free access to UK-based live music, comedy, and sports events, in partnership with AEG Presents, The O2, and NME, among others.
