Shania Twain talks Glastonbury 2024 legends slot: “Honour of my life”

Canadian singer-songwriter Shania Twain has been announced as this year’s legends slot performer at Glastonbury Festival, calling it the “honour of her life.” Twain is set to play on the Sunday afternoon of the 2024 Worthy Farm event, where headliners Dua Lipa, Coldplay, and SZA are also scheduled to perform on the iconic Pyramid Stage. The country star’s slot is often considered to be Glastonbury’s fourth headline set and has previously been performed by the likes of Diana Ross, Kylie Minogue, and Lionel Richie in recent years.

In a post on Twitter, Twain expressed her excitement over the news, stating that her forthcoming performance at Glastonbury was “another jewel in her crown.” She also joked about borrowing a tent for the end of June when the festival is taking place. Speaking about the upcoming show, Twain said that she plans to create an energy exchange with the 200,000 people in attendance and looks forward to singing all the hits with the audience. She added that the performance will consist of high energy and that she is thinking of showing up on a carriage with a team of horses or something that could be arranged.

Twain’s appearance has been a long-awaited dream fulfilled, as she expressed her desire to perform on Glastonbury’s prestigious legends slot in an interview with NME in March last year. Other acts scheduled to perform at this year’s event include LCD Soundsystem, Little Simz, Burna Boy, PJ Harvey, among others. The festival is set to take place from June 26 to June 30 at Worthy Farm in Pilton, Somerset.

Last November, coach and ticket packages sold out in 25 minutes, while general ticket sales sold out in under an hour. However, a re-sale of unwanted and unpaid-for tickets will be held next month for those registered. Additionally, Twain is among the headliners for this year’s BST Hyde Park concert series in London
