American singer-songwriter SZA has announced that she will perform at Malahide Castle in Dublin on July 3 as part of her S.O.S. tour. Tickets go on general sale on March 15. Fans have noted that there is a gap in her schedule coinciding with Glastonbury weekend, and rumours circulated following her announcement as one of the headline acts for this year’s BST Hyde Park series. She’ll join the previously announced acts of Shania Twain, Andrea Bocelli, Robbie Williams, Stray Kids, Kylie Minogue, and Kings of Leon in London.
The album SZA’s 2017 debut album ‘Ctrl’ was certified platinum in the US and named one of the best albums of the decade by the media. She received four Grammy nominations last year. The announcement of her Dublin show comes after she was named International Artist of the Year at the Brit Awards 2024.
Other artists rumoured to be performing at Glastonbury 2024 include Coldplay, Dua Lipa, Stevie Wonder, Rihanna, Shania Twain and Stevie Nicks. Glasto co-organiser Emily Eavis revealed last October that this year’s Legends Slot on the Pyramid Stage would be occupied by a female artist. In March 2023, she also told fans that Glastonbury had booked one of two planned female headliners, neither of whom had previously performed at the festival.
In November 2023, there were rumours that Madonna, Dua Lipa and Coldplay would headline Glastonbury this summer, but Eavis later said the rumours about the confirmed headliners were “untrue”. The first lineup poster traditionally arrives in early March, but no acts have been officially announced yet.
Fans will wait in anticipation to see if SZA will take to the stage at Glastonbury as well
