Glastonbury Festival organizer Emily Eavis has provided new information regarding the headliners for this year’s edition of the festival, which is one of the most popular music festivals in the world. Supporters are eagerly anticipating news of who the headliners will be, following a delay in ticket sales by two weeks in November. Eavis has insinuated that we may get news of the headliners soon.
Eavis was attending the Women in Music conference at Oxford University last week, where she hinted that there may be “two female headliners” at this year’s festival. She added that the lineup should be unveiled “at some point this week,” but didn’t provide any more information. Eavis mentioned at the same event that there won’t be a “fallow year” following the festival’s two-year hiatus across the pandemic, with the festival occurring both in 2025 and 2026.
According to Eavis, one of the years will “hopefully” have three female headliners, as announced by OOFestivals. The Glastonbury Festival was criticized last year after a study discovered that the lineup lacked diversity; there were almost twice as many male artists than female acts. In November, the festival’s tickets were sold out, and there were hopes of getting them back through a never sale.
On a different note, Glastonbury has revealed that it will be giving away twenty tickets to this year’s festival as part of a crowdfunder campaign that aims to raise funds for people affected by conflict. All proceeds from the tickets will be given to UK charities that work in conflict zones, such as the British Red Cross, Oxfam, and War Child.
June 26 to June 30, 2022, is the scheduled time for Glastonbury Festival at Worthy Farm. Fans and other interested individuals will hopefully receive news of the headliners and other acts any day now
