Lost on You, an electronic record label and charity project that aims to improve the lives of people living in deprived communities worldwide, has finished constructing two schools in Liberia. Located in the villages of Gbiabo Suken and Jedebiaken, the two schools are set to provide education to 300 children on a budget of £20,000. Lost on You had previously built a primary school in Port Loko, Sierra Leone, in 2021.
Lost on You partnered again with previous collaborator Street Child for this year’s project, which successfully certified two teachers and provided training for four other teachers using Street Child’s methodology to ensure the future stability of the schools. Additionally, the project set up a school-based management committee and income-generating initiative.
Street Child is a charity that works with communities to improve the lives of children threatened by violence, conflict, and neglect by creating access to education in Africa. Lost on You donates 100% of its earnings from music sales to charitable causes, along with showcasing underground artists. Its donations aim to fight malnutrition, poor health, and sanitary problems in the most affected parts of the world.
Nina Lach, the co-founder of the label, told Mixmag that they “are nurturing dreams and shaping brighter futures for children” in building schools in the world’s underserved regions. According to Lach, Lost on You hopes to continue supporting education and building new schools in the coming years.
