NOFX announce two London shows at Brixton Academy as part of final tour

American punk rock band NOFX have announced that they are embarking on their final tour in 2024, to mark 40 years since their formation. Ahead of the tour, the band has added a pair of shows in London, both of which will take place at the Brixton Academy on Saturday, June 11 and Sunday, June 12. These shows will be joined by other acts such as Descendents, Codefendants, Circle Jerks, Snuff, The Meffs, and The Last Gang.

The announcement comes after the band revealed that they would be breaking up in 2023, having been formed in 1983. Despite this, guitarist Eric Melvin has suggested that the band could still release new music after retiring from touring and frontman Fat Mike said that they were “a bit tired” after having played over 2000 shows in 33 countries, in more than 300 cities.

This latest announcement means that NOFX will be following in the footsteps of other artists who have recently announced shows at Brixton Academy, such as Pulp and Blur. The venue is reopening its doors for the first time since December 2022, after two people died in a crowd crush.

Tickets for the NOFX shows at Brixton Academy will go on sale on Friday, March 15, with pre-sales available on March 13 and March 14. The band’s North American leg of their tour is set to conclude with three hometown shows in October 2024
