A new nightclub called Tilla Tec will be opening soon in Amsterdam’s former De School location. Samuel King and DJ Lola Edo, founder of the queer bar Pamela, are behind this joint project. Tilla Tec has a provisional lease date until April 2025, and King and Edo hope to be able to extend this lease beyond that. Edo has taken to Instagram to officially announce the opening of the new venue and express her excitement at how she’s going to be able to add value to the city with this experience.
According to Het Parool, Tilla Tec will give the old De School venue a completely different approach and purpose. The new nightclub is hoping to set itself apart from other venues in Amsterdam. It is aiming to create a more inclusive environment and a distinct experience for every patron that visits the venue.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, Edo and King have been able to create a plan that they hope will add value to Amsterdam as a city. Amsterdam’s nightlife scene has always been a hot attraction for people from around the world. The opening of Tilla Tec will provide another fresh perspective and set the standard for the next era of the city’s nightlife.
After being closed to the public for two years, De School’s new formula was hyped up in the Amsterdam city nightlife scene. Unfortunately, the venue didn’t last long, however King and Edo are hoping that Tilla Tec will provide a completely new and refreshing approach to the nightlife scene in Amsterdam and can survive in the long run
